Led by Showroom Logic, Internet marketing firms were broadly represented on this years Inc. magazine list of the 5,000 fastest growing American companies.

According to marketer and guest writer Larry Kim, who detailed Internet marketing representation on the Inc. 5000 list in an Aug. 27 Marketingland.com post, Miami-based Showroom Logic, whose search engine marketing (SEM) platform and wide-ranging Internet marketing services for automobile dealerships has seen revenue grow by nearly 8,500 percent to $13 million annually, ranked 26th on the Inc. 5000.

Close behind in the 31st spot, was AdKarma, a company that provides a video streaming platform that brings publishers and advertisers together. AdKarma, which according to Kim has grown its client list to 300, also grew its revenue 7,500 percent from 2010-2013.

The advertising and marketing industry, which includes the Internet marketing sector, posted the second-highest growth rate on the Inc. 5000 at 186 percent. The magazine tracks three years of company revenue to compile its list. The consumer products and services industry topped the list with a 204 percent growth rate. The software sector was third with 182 percent growth.

The advertising and marketing companies on the list combined to post $7.4 billion in revenue from 2010-2013.

Other notable companies on the Inc. 5000 included ReviMedia, a lead software generation provider. According to Kim, ReviMedia grew from humble $100,000 revenue beginnings in 2010 to a $5.9 million company by 2013, and grew from a staff of three to 24 employees by the end of last year.

The list also included AdColony, an HD video marketing enterprise, at No. 114; software developer and big data service DataXu at No. 582; WordStream (owned by Kim) at No. 673; and 3Q Digital, an Internet marketing firm, at No. 677.

Fuhu, a Southern California company that developed an Android tablet for children and developed an Adobe Air app that allows children to access the Internet with parental supervision, was the fastest growing company, topping the Inc. 5000 with $195 million in 2013 revenue and a 3-year growth rate of nearly 159,000 percent.

Quest Nutrition, a food and beverage industry leader, was second on the list with 57,348 percent growth, going from $143,853 in revenue in 2010 to $82.6 million last year.

Rounding out the Inc. 5000’s top five were Reliant Asset Management (55,460 percent growth, $85.1 million in 2013 revenue); software company Superfish (26,2043%, $35.3 million); and telecommunications company Acacia Communications (20,690%, $77.7 million).
