What is SlideShare?

According to slideshare.net, “SlideShare is the world’s largest community for sharing presentations. With 60 million monthly visitors and 130 million pageviews, it is amongst the most visited 200 websites in the world. Besides presentations, SlideShare also supports documents, PDFs, videos and webinars.”

That being said, Slideshare continues to stay relevant as one of of the larger social engagement communities on the web. Also Slideshare is search engine-optimized and as a result, presentations will attract viewers on their own. In addition, you can easily embed SlideShare presentations in your blog posts, web pages and also include them in emails. If your business or brand currently has a blog, it may be worth exploring SlideShare for sharing your content.

How to turn your blog posts into a SlideShare presentation:

One of the coolest functions of Slideshare is that if you upload a PDF document to your account, it will automatically convert the file into a presentation that can be read, shared, and embedded elsewhere by anyone on the site. A good way to utilize this feature is to convert your blog posts into PDF files.

There are a couple of tools that will do this for you, here are two that I recommend Printfriendly or Joliprint.

Step 1:

Once your blog post is turned into a PDF, you can then upload it to SlideShare. Visit the SlideShare website to see how, at no cost, you can upload and share your presentation. You can also add keywords in the tag section that relate to your presentation. Also make sure you link back to your original blog post.

Share share share! Promote your SlideShare presentations on all of the social networks that you can. Within the presentation itself, there are great options to share and embed that will allow you to easily share the presentation across networks. Be sure to take advantage of this!Screen Shot 2014-01-13 at 2.14.57 PMStep 3:

Go back to the blog posts that you turned into presentations and add the SlideShare code at the bottom of those posts. That way if people want to view the information in a presentation format, they would have this option. This has the added SEO benefit of boosting the findability of the actual SlideShare presentation.
